Aviation Security

Following the tragic events of 11 September 2001, and in accordance with SEC recommendations, the Global Aviation Security Action Group (GASAG) was formed. This forum of worldwide aviation industry organizations has reached consensus on a number of security issues.

The focus of aviation security is to prevent voluntary acts that aim to harm and acts of unlawful interference.

Member airlines are now required to have a Security Program in place which meets or exceeds the requirements of the IATA Recommended Security Standards.
